PRP Facial Rejuvenation Treatments

Our bodies naturally produce stem cells that help us heal by stimulating the growth of collagen, as well as blood vessels that deliver oxygen to our body tissues. Platelets and growth factors found in the blood stimulate stem cells, and platelet-rich plasma (PRP) contains three to six times as many of these substances as normal blood. PRP has been used for years to heal wounds and for other purposes. Today, PRP therapies are also available for facial rejuvenation and other areas to improve aesthetically.

What is PRP Facial Rejuvenation Treatment ?

PRP (autologous platelet-rich plasma) is a regenerative medicine. Facial rejuvenation with PRP is also known as PRP facial rejuvenation or Blood PRP Lift. PRP is blood that contains higher concentrations of platelets and growth factors than normal blood. These substances stimulate stem cells to produce collagen and blood vessels, in turn slowing or reversing the signs of aging. it is a safe and tolerable procedure with no scars. All areas of the face, including the eyes, cheeks, mouth and forehead, can benefit from PRP injections.

PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma)

Facial rejuvenation with PRP is also known as PRP facial rejuvenation. PRP is blood that contains higher concentrations of platelets and growth factors than normal blood. These substances stimulate stem cells to produce collagen and blood vessels, in turn slowing or reversing the signs of aging.

Platelets are the key are key actors of hard and soft tissue repair mechanisms. They provide the essential growth factors (FGF, PDGF, TGF-ß , EGF, VEGF, IGF) involved in:

 • Stem cell migration, differentiation and proliferation.

 • Stimulation of cells such as fibroblasts and endothelial cells, to induce new extracellular matrix deposition and neo-vascularization.

Science supports the use of PRP for the augmentation and regeneration of bone and soft tissues. PRP is the source of concentrated platelet content present in your blood. Apart from assisting blood clotting, platelets also release growth factors that assist the human body to repair itself by stimulating cells to regenerate new tissue. Today, platelet rich plasma can easily be separated from blood, through a process of centrifugation. Using your concentrated plasma permits the body to heal faster and more efficiently. Because your plasma (autologous) is used, there is no danger of disease transmission. Case studies reported in Europe, England, USA, Japan and South Africa have demonstrated consistent rejuvenation of facial aging, including wrinkling in persons with modest grades of photo or chronological aging. Improvements in skin texture and tone have also been seen.

Plasma contains many factors essential for cell survival such as nutriments, vitamins, hormones, electrolytes and proteins. Among the plasma proteins, there are the essential molecules for the coagulation process and generation of the fibrin polymer that will serve as a scaffold for cell migration, differentiation and proliferation.

It is well known that platelets have many functions. Platelets contain important growth factors that, when secreted, are responsible for:

 • Tissue regeneration and rejuvenation

 • Increasing collagen production

 • Recruiting other cells to the site of injury

 • Initiating vascular growth

 • Inducing cell differentiation

 • Bone – mineralization

 • Extra cellular matrix formation

 • Elimination of donor transmissible infections

 • Biological glue: for tissue adhesion especially in skin flaps, bone grafts and trauma

PRP injections are natural & safe

PRP facial injections are minimally invasive and very safe with no scars. No major complications, and as few side effects or allergic reactions are rare. They can be used in multiple areas for dermal rejuvenation. There is enough evidence to show that Platelet Rich Plasma can be used to treat several skin issues such as hair loss, diabetic ulcers, bedsores, thermal burns, superficial and surgical injuries and skin graft donor sites and post-traumatic scars.

Who is an ideal candidate for PRP?

Because PRP facial rejuvenation is a minimally invasive procedure, most adults with signs of aging are good candidates. The fact that it is less invasive makes it an attractive option for elderly patients, since the incisions made in facelift and other invasive facial procedures take longer to heal in older patients. However, it should be noted that PRP injections do have their limits; they cannot make an elderly patient look 30 years old. PRP is best known for its wonderful act of skin rejuvenation. When Dr. Nabil Fakih injects PRP into particular parts of the skin, its high platelet concentration functions as a matrix that stimulates the growth of new collagen, revitalizes skin tissue and hence leads to a naturally smooth and firm skin. As a result, PRP treatment gets rid of wrinkles and creates a smoother skin feel and better natural tone.

PRP for Face with U225 MesoGun

Blood is drawn in our office as though you are having routine blood testing at your primary care physician’s office. Through a simple blood draw (between 50 - 80 ml of blood, equivalent to 6 - 12 bottles of blood) from an individual into a sterile tube and is placed in a centrifuge and spun in order to separate the blood from the growth factors and platelets. We ensures a lot of PRP in comparison with others colleagues who they withdraw 1-2 tubes only. We use a closed sterile system and the platelets are concentrated to 3X the normal blood values. The system eliminates granulocytes which hurts tissue regeneration and wound healing. The highly concentrated platelet rich plasma (PRP) is then injected into the face using the U225 Mesogun. This technique injection using the U225 Mesogun makes the procedure without pain, very tolerable with anesthesia cream, avoiding old techniques with sedation or anesthesia injections previous to the treatment. After the injection collagen mask is used to hydrate and plump the skin. PRP contains many growth factors that improve internal skin quality.

What to avoid before PRP?

It is vitally important to avoid all blood thinning medications/supplements for 2 weeks prior to surgery. This includes any aspirin or aspirin-containing products as well as any anti-inflammatories such as ibuprofen or naproxen (including Motrin, and Advil). It is generally fine to be take Tylenol (Acetaminophen). Avoid supplements such as Vitamin E including multi vitamins, omega 3 fatty acids such as fish oil and flax seed oil. All these medications can contribute to bleeding problems following surgery and can increase the amount of bruising.

Recovery

Minor bruising or swelling will last about 2 days if the procedure is performed alone. Most patients look presentable and return to work in 2-3 days.
